Because apparently I am a masochist and I love to torture myself, I went and looked at the majority of the Covens to be found here. And I realized, some Covens have the craziest/most ridiculous rules around. I mean, really, some of them are just bad. My Coven has none, no real rules or requirements, why? Because for one, I can't make anyone on this site do anything, no matter how much I may demand it, and two, I think it stiffles the fun a member can have. I have a real issue with the Societies that demand you earn x amout of Favor before you can even be traded. Yeah, if I was stuck in such a place and I was told I have to earn so much for you before you trade me and make more off me, you can bet I would either give that account away or delete. Forcing people to be active so you can be a stingy Favor mizer is rather silly. I also have an issue with those that force you to put their Crest on your profile or face being blinded or sent to Purgatory/Hell. I don't usually post Crests on my profiles, I had a few in the past where I outright refused. Some people have a theme or a certain layout going for them, when you're forced to put some (usually) horrendious image with a black background on your profile, it can really screw up the look you're tying to go for.



Mine is hardly the first Coven to have no real rules to speak of, IS was doing it years before I hopped on the bandwagon. But, it's such a great idea. Because, really, aside from blinding and sending a member somewhere else, what can you really do to them to enforce your silly rules? I'd rather be blinded or sent to Hell than have to put up with that kind of nonsense.
